About me

Bio:

Hi there! I’m Bridgette Guindon, a Registered Psychotherapist who is passionate about creating a space where children, youth, and families feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I’ve named my practice Bloom & Grow Psychotherapy because I believe in nurturing growth that empowers clients to bloom into their most authentic and thriving selves.

For over 10 years, I’ve worked with young people and their families in a variety of roles - from coaching girls' football, to working as a child & youth worker or child counsellor at community resource centres, to supporting kids with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as an educational assistant with the school board. Each experience has deepened my understanding of the unique strengths and challenges that children and teens face.

I’ve developed a deep appreciation for expressive therapies and the powerful role they play in helping children and teens heal and grow. Modalities such as Play Therapy, Sandplay, Narrative Therapy, and Art Therapy allow kids to express themselves in ways that feel natural and empowering. Alongside these approaches, I also integrate therapies like Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, and Emotion-Focused techniques. My particular interest lies in supporting children who struggle with anxiety.

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a true partnership. Encouragement, validation, and acceptance are key ingredients I bring into every session. I also know that starting therapy can sometimes feel a little overwhelming, not just for kids and teens, but for parents too. My goal is to make the experience as welcoming, supportive, and meaningful as possible for the whole family, while always protecting the privacy and best interests of the children and teens I work with.

I'm committed to continually learning and growing in my practice, and I stay up-to-date on research and techniques that are proven to help young people and their families thrive.

Thanks for taking the time to learn a little about me!
